SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Philipp Misselwitz is Professor for Urbanism and Design and investigates temporary occupation, re-appropriation and community organized urban interventions within the built environment. He has contributed to research into temporary occupations, re-appropriations and community-organized urban interventions within disused or contested urban spaces in Europe. This cutting-edge research has led to insights into temporary planning in Europe and how a significant share of business developers, municipalities and property owners have identified that successful and sustainable development cannot be achieved without a consideration of the contextual aspects of a site. He is also a consultant for the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
